Hits: A Hit
is counted as any file that is downloaded. For example, a page with 10
images, and a visitor loads that page, 11 hits are recorded. One hit for the
page itself plus one hit for each image on the page. |
|
Files: Any
request that returns a file is counted as a File. If a browser has a page in
its cache, it will ask the server when the page was last modified. If it has
not been modified since the last time it was downloaded, the server sends a
304 - Not Modified response. The browser then serves the page from its cache
and it does not count as a File - however, it does count as a Hit.

Pageviews: A
Pageview is any hit to a file ending in .html, .htm, .shtml, .php, or .php3. |
|
Sessions: If
a user visits and hits 4 pages within a one-hour period, it is counted as 4
Pageviews, but only one Session. |

KBytes sent:
Whenever a user visits a page, downloads a file, or views an image, data is
transferred. KBytes sent is a measure of the amount of data that has
transferred, measured in Kilobytes, or Kb. This is also equates to the
amount of bandwidth being transferred. |
